Mark Azzopardi graduated as an architect and civil engineer in 1992 from the University of Malta where he read for a Master of Science in the Conservation of Masonry Buildings in 1997. He has lectured prospective architects on conservation-related topics at the same university since 2003. Perit Azzopardi joined the then Restoration Unit as a conservation architect in 2007. Since 2023, he has undertaken the position of Director (Projects) tasked with overseeing the projects carried out by the Restoration and Preservation Department from the documentation stage to actual completion.
